Moores School Symphony Orchestra Concert: Music from Germany, Austria & Greece
Organized by the Moores School of Music, University of Houston

The Hellenic Cultural Center of the Southwest is pleased to share a distinguished upcoming performance presented by the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston: the Moores School Symphony Orchestra Concert: Music from Germany, Austria & Greece.

This thoughtfully designed program reflects the richness and breadth of the European orchestral tradition. The performance will feature Grace Roman, winner of the MSM Concerto Competition – Vocal Division, in a presentation of Alban Berg’s Seven Early Songs, a work admired for its expressive beauty and lyrical sophistication. The concert will also include appearances by both faculty and student conductors, underscoring the Moores School’s high standard of artistic training and performance.

Of special significance is the inclusion of music from Greece, to be conducted by Augustina Kapoti, a native of Athens, as part of the requirements for her Doctor of Musical Arts degree. Her participation brings an especially meaningful Greek dimension to the evening and highlights the enduring contribution of Greek musical identity within a broader international repertoire.

Bringing together works from Germany, Austria, and Greece, this concert promises an evening of artistic excellence, cultural depth, and musical variety. It is a program that will appeal to seasoned concertgoers and new audiences alike, offering a memorable experience marked by elegance, substance, and inspiration.
