Kapodistrias - Movie screening
Regal Theaters will be screening Kapodistrias: The Governor on April 22, offering a unique opportunity for the public to experience an important chapter of modern Greek history on the big screen. While the Hellenic Cultural Center of the Southwest is not affiliated with this screening, we are pleased to share it with our community as part of our ongoing effort to highlight cultural initiatives connected to Hellenism.
The film, directed by Yannis Smaragdis—whose previous works have been warmly received by our audiences—tells the story of Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first Governor of independent Greece. It explores his vision, leadership, and personal sacrifices as he worked to build a modern state in the aftermath of the Greek War of Independence, ultimately paying the ultimate price for his ideals.
We encourage those interested in Greek history and culture to take advantage of this special theatrical release.
